HINOK is a boutique fashion select shop located in Nanjing. This project marks a new store created after many years of the brand’s operation. To create a lively and playful shopping experience, a walk-in ramp that gradually rises runs through the entire interior.
Within the relatively compact space of HINOK, two gently ascending circulation paths create an atmosphere of continuous exploration from the moment visitors enter the store, enriching the shopping experience within a limited floor area.
The raised circulation begins on both sides of the entrance. The upward steps and the descending ramp are finished with materials of different textures. A looped corridor connects them, forming a continuous shopping route that allows visitors to move through the space repeatedly.
HINOK favors bold color combinations. A contrast between warm orange and cool blue runs throughout the interior, while grey and natural wood tones are used on the walls, floors, and display surfaces as a neutral backdrop. Along the tiled walls, flexible AA-column display systems are installed to accommodate products of various sizes. Other display elements act as partitions between the ramp and the steps, accented again with vibrant orange and blue.
A curved box-like space is positioned near the entrance, combining two key functions of the boutique: the cashier and the fitting rooms. By merging these programs into one volume, the project consolidates the store’s primary service areas within a compact footprint.
Adjacent to the fitting room, a freely rotating multi-sided panel system serves alternately as shrine-like display shelving, a dressing mirror, and pegboard display. The adjustable panels allow the store to easily adapt its display and functions according to different seasons and themes.
